Why convert PDF to Excel
A price list, bank statement, estimate or report in PDF is a table you cannot calculate with: cells do not add up, rows do not sort, and copying breaks the columns. The converter finds the tables on the pages and moves them into an Excel workbook: every cell in its place, merged headers kept merged. From there, work with the data like any other spreadsheet.

When you need it
PDF to Excel helps whenever data arrives in a locked form:
- a bank statement has to be sorted into categories;
- a supplier's price list needs a markup applied;

Which PDFs work
PDFs generated from Excel, accounting software and banking systems convert best: they have a text layer and a clean grid. Scanned tables and photos of documents are pictures with no text, and the tool cannot read data from them. Run such a file through PDF to Word with OCR switched on first.
What to check afterwards
Complex tables with multi-level headers, nested cells and multi-line text may shift by a column or two — check the totals and the header row. Text outside tables is carried over as it is, while charts and pictures remain images. If the PDF holds several tables of different widths, each gets its own set of columns.
