Why convert PNG to PDF
PNG is the format of screenshots, diagrams, drawings and graphics with transparent backgrounds. It stores images losslessly, but it is not accepted as a document everywhere: a guide made of a dozen screenshots, a set of charts or scanned pages is easier to send as one PDF. The converter embeds every PNG in the document without re-encoding — the pixels stay exactly the same — and you decide the page order.
How to turn PNG into PDF
- 1
Upload the images — one or several at once.
- 2
Arrange them in the order you want by dragging.
- 3
If the pictures contain text, switch on recognition (OCR) — available with a free account.
- 4
Click Convert and download the PDF.
What the converter does
Lossless
PNG is embedded in the PDF without re-encoding: lines, small text and colours stay exact.
Transparency
Transparent areas are preserved; on a white page they look like a white background.
Many files, one document
A series of screenshots or pages becomes a single PDF in the order you set.
Page sized to the image
No margins, no scaling: the page matches the image size exactly.
Mixed formats
JPG, GIF and WebP can be uploaded together with PNG.
Text recognition
With an account, OCR makes the text on screenshots searchable and copyable.
No sign-up
Conversion works right away; an account is only needed for OCR and higher limits.
Files are not kept
Your images and the result are deleted from the server automatically after an hour.
When you need it
PNG to PDF is most often used for documentation and reports:
- a step-by-step guide made of screenshots should open as one file;
- charts and diagrams must be attached to a report;
- scans were saved as PNG but the portal only takes PDF;
- design mock-ups or drawings go to a client for approval;
- chats or confirmations from apps need saving as a document.
PNG or JPG — which to choose
PNG compresses without loss and suits screenshots, text, diagrams and anything where sharp edges and exact colours matter. JPG is for photographs: it is smaller but slightly blurs the detail. The converter accepts both and re-encodes neither, so use whichever format the image already has — conversion will not change its quality.
File size and text
A PDF made of PNGs weighs about as much as the source files: large high-resolution screenshots make a large document. If you need something lighter, run the result through Compress PDF. Without OCR the text on the pictures stays a picture; switch recognition on and an invisible text layer in English and Russian appears under the image.
