Why merge PDFs
A contract and its annexes, passport scans saved one page at a time, report chapters written by different people — all of it travels better as a single file. This tool stitches several PDFs into one document in the order you choose and recompresses nothing: every page stays exactly as it was in the source. JPG and PNG images can go straight into the list and become pages too.
How to merge PDF files
- 1
Upload your files — drop several PDFs at once or pick them from your device.
- 2
Put the documents in order: drag the cards with a mouse or a finger.
- 3
Click Merge — the files are joined into one PDF in a few seconds.
- 4
Download the result or send it straight to another tool, such as compression.
What merging does here
Any order
Drag the file cards around and the pages land in the document in exactly that sequence.
PDFs plus images
Add JPG and PNG files to the same list: each image becomes a page of its own.
No quality loss
Pages are carried over as they are: text stays text and images are not recompressed.
Protected files
If one of the PDFs is password-protected, type the password right in the list and it joins the rest.
Many files at once
Up to 5 files without an account, 15 with a free account, 50 on Pro.
Keep going without downloading
Send the merged document straight on to compression, page numbers or password protection.
No sign-up
Merging works right away; an account only raises the limits.
Files are not kept
Your sources and the result are deleted from the server automatically after an hour.
When merging helps
One file instead of a pile is almost always easier for the recipient:
- a contract, invoice and delivery note must go as a single attachment;
- a document was scanned page by page into separate files;
- sections of a report or thesis were written by different people;
- photos of receipts or certificates have to be submitted as one PDF;
- a portal or web form only accepts a single upload.
What you can upload
The main format is PDF, of any kind: text documents, scans, presentations saved as PDF. Alongside them you can add JPG and PNG images — a phone photo of a document, say; each image turns into a page the size of the picture. Word and Excel files should be converted to PDF with the matching tools before merging.
What happens to the pages
The tool does not redraw pages or change their resolution — it moves them into the new document whole, with fonts, links and vector graphics intact. That is why the merged file weighs roughly as much as all the sources together. If the result is too heavy for email, run it through Compress PDF.
